Being Thin vs. Being Fit

August 13th, 2007

Hello, everyone!
I noticed an interesting article discussing our population’s growing emphasis on weight loss rather than overall physical fitness. This truly makes sense, as we see more and more ads promoting weight-loss effects of their products rather than telling how the products may affect one’s overall fitness. People are fixated on weight loss, forever enforcing the notion that being thin means being fit. This notion is false, as many who are thin are not necessarily fit individuals. Being fit requires an exercise regimen along with a healthy diet plan, not just one or the other. We often see people who are incredibly thin, but who are noticeably unhealthy as well. Counting calories and starving one’s self does not earn a healthy lifestyle. One must dedicate to a healthy diet along with the proper level of daily exercise to complement the diet. At any rate, check out the article for an interesting read, which can be found at the website in the citation below.
